Unique Theology Course

Nungalinya College and its partners, Wontulp-Bi-Buya College in Cairns, Queensland, LITE, Lismore, NSW and TACL, South Australia are the only Indigenous corporations to offer Theology courses in Australia. The Theology course is unique in that it is specifically designed for Indigenous people. As a result Indigenous students come from all over Australia to study Theology here.

This distinction has gained it recognition by the Federal Government, which provides funding for accommodation and travel. Students can apply for Abstudy to cover the cost of travel, accommodation and meals for short courses. However, the student, or their sponsor pays for the course fee, as this is not paid for by Abstudy.

Nungalinya College employs Indigenous and non-Indigenous teaching and support staff. Some of the teaching staff are sponsored by affiliated churches. It is important that we employ Indigenous staff and offer them training to enhance their career opportunities.
